Today, I returned to work after a couple of days of well earned rest (Yes, I worked from home on friday and sunday).
I had a lot of reporting to do, which - thankfully enough - was fulfilled within the designated time.
Ofcourse, there was my infamous new haircut, or lack thereof, some were surprised, some didn't recognize me at all.
The best reaction came from the receptionist, the below conversation ensued about 30 minutes after arriving at work, I found this receptionist of ours tapping me on the shoulder.
M: Shamel, you look somewhat different
Slop: Really, how so?
M: Not sure, have you lost weight?
Slop: Yep, I always lose weight when under stress.
M: Cool, you look better that way.
Then aur HR assistant walks in, without taking a second look, she goes "Hey, nice haircut."
So, our receptionist goes, "Ah, so thats's why you look different."
Anyway, this made me laugh all day, really made my day.
That was as pointless as they come dudes and dudettes, I think it's a welcome change.

hey, I see you've been busy posting. I wanted to comment at all of the previous posts but they are so many that i though you'd end up Hating me, so I will only comment at this one,
congrats for the haircut (or the lack of it) have you watched friends? cause somehow your haircut reminded me with this girl that shaved her head, am not a very original person.
I met couple of people like your
receptionist, and i find them hilarious in every sense of the word.
and did i tell you that i think you are actually brave to do that to yourself, I can never understand the concept of laughing at ones self
Yeah I was on a rampage I guess, don't know why though, this time it wasn't to laugh at oneself, it was to prove how ugly it was, looks like I was wrong though, for some unknown reason, most found it attractive, strange how this tends to happen at the most inopportune times, a couple of years back I'd have been happy, now I'm reluctant to say the least.
